March brings new momentum as Sciving moves closer to announcing the first locations for its student housing units. After months of preparation and ongoing conversations with universities across Europe, Sciving expects to share the selected sites in the coming months. 22nd april 2025 Sciving Expands Operations with New Management and Cleaning Service Picture taken at DTU (Technical University of Denmark) Sciving is excited to announce a major step toward ensuring long-term quality and reliability in the day-to-day experience of our residents. This month, Sciving officially began the development of its own internal branch dedicated to the management and cleaning of all Sciving housing units. This initiative stems from a simple but important goal: to ensure that all Sciving homes meet the same high standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall management regardless of location. While many housing providers outsource these services, we believe that directly managing these responsibilities allows us to provide a better experience for students, reduce inefficiencies, and take more ownership over the environments we create. From the very beginning, Sciving’s mission has been to provide sustainable, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed housing for students. With the addition of our internal operations branch, we are taking that commitment one step further. By keeping our services in-house, we gain full control over everything from daily cleaning routines to on-call maintenance and support. This will allow us to be more proactive, consistent, and responsive to the needs of our residents. It also means we can align our services with the same environmental values that guide the design and construction of our units, for example by using sustainable cleaning products, minimizing waste, and training our staff in energy-efficient maintenance practices. We also recognize that universities may already have established campus facilities teams or preferred partnerships. That’s why our model is designed to be flexible. While Sciving will offer a full-service operational package as a default, we also invite universities to propose their own internal teams to manage the units locally if that better suits their needs. In these cases, we will work closely with those teams to provide guidelines and training, ensuring that students receive the same high-quality experience regardless of who is delivering it. The creation of this new operational branch has already begun, with recruitment and training processes currently underway. Our team is focused on building a service model that reflects the same attention to detail, care, and sustainability that goes into our physical housing units. Just as we have rethought student housing design from the ground up, we are now rethinking the way student housing is maintained and managed. As our first residents prepare to move in later this year, we are laying the groundwork for a long-term vision of student housing that is both innovative and dependable. Vi er engagerede i konstant at forbedre vores enheder for at give studerende den bedst mulige boligoplevelse. Fra at integrere de nyeste teknologier, til at implementere nye bæredygtige praksisser, forbliver vi dedikerede til at skubbe grænserne for at skabe en bedre leveoplevelse i vores enheder. This year, Sciving is officially launching its first international pilot projects, while expanding partnerships with universities that want to rethink student housing alongside us. These pilot projects will take place in five European cities, each with a community of 25 to 50 residences. What makes these projects different is the role that students themselves will play in shaping them. From day one, the residents will share their real-life experiences, offering feedback on everything from room layouts to the way students sleep and study. Sciving’s goal is to move beyond assumptions about what students need, and instead build housing based on how students actually live. The foundation for this year’s work comes from the growing network of university partners that Sciving built throughout 2024. These partnerships, involving housing offices, sustainability departments, and student unions, are essential to making sure each community reflects local student culture and academic traditions. This collaboration ensures that what works well in one location can be adapted to fit the unique needs of students elsewhere. While sustainability remains part of every project, the focus in 2025 shifts toward something students have repeatedly highlighted in feedback: affordability and flexibility. Students are clear about what matters most to them. They want housing that is comfortable, affordable, and designed to support both study and social life. These practical insights will guide every design decision this year. Each pilot will consist of between 50 to 200 residences, forming small-scale communities where students will help influence future Sciving designs based on their real-life experience living there. While planning is progressing well, and we expects to announce the selected cities and universities within the next few months. In the meantime, students across Europe can already sign up to suggest universities where they want to see Sciving housing in the future. This is a unique opportunity for students to have a direct voice in deciding where Sciving should expand after these initial pilots. The sign-up form is available now on sciving.com, and Sciving encourages all interested students to get involved. Unlike traditional housing developments, where designs are finalized long before students move in, Sciving takes a different approach. After months of design, planning, and collaboration, Sciving is preparing to launch the official Sciving App. This marks the moment where the vision of accessible, sustainable student housing becomes directly available to students themselves. 28th october 2025 Sciving prepares for app launch as new phase of student access begins As Sciving’s goal of partnerships with universities continue to advance across Europe, October marks a major milestone in the journey toward accessible, sustainable student living. After months of design, planning, and collaboration, Sciving is preparing to launch the official Sciving App. This marks the moment where the vision of accessible, sustainable student housing becomes directly available to students themselves. What has until now existed primarily through university partnerships and development projects will soon be placed in the hands of the people who matter most: the students. The Sciving App will be designed to be the central gateway that connects students to opportunities, resources, and a global community of peers working toward a more affordable and sustainable student life. The app will allow students to gain early access to Sciving’s modular housing units, making it possible for them to explore available homes, register their interest, and secure housing in a quick and transparent way. By integrating communication features, the app also enables students to speak directly with both their university and the Sciving support team, creating a more coordinated experience from application to move-in. Just as importantly, the platform serves as a place where students can join real projects that improve sustainability and student life on their campuses, supporting the creation of active, meaningful communities from day one. Through collaborations with educational retailers and other service providers, the Sciving app will offer discounts on essential study material to reduce some of the financial pressure that often accompanies university life. The partnerships that form the foundation of this feature will continue to expand, ensuring that students benefit from a broad range of practical savings the moment the app goes live. This new chapter will represent a shift in Sciving’s evolution. The concept of modular, sustainable student living is transforming into a fully connected system that supports students academically, socially, and financially. Sciving began the year by finishing building the first Sciving student housing unit at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), marking the beginning of our journey to provide sustainable, modular housing for students. As construction progressed, sustainable wooden wall panels were installed, and the interior layout was finalized, reinforcing our commitment to using high-quality, sustainable materials that enhance energy efficiency while ensuring a comfortable living environment. Collaboration with DTU students played a key role in shaping our progress. A research initiative focused on optimizing indoor climate control led to students testing real-world solutions for ventilation, humidity regulation, and temperature stability. The year began with a clear ambition to turn student feedback into real action. Building on the prototype work completed at DTU in 2024, January marked the transition from concept to international ambition. Plans were set in motion to launch pilot projects across Europe, with students invited to actively shape everything from layouts and indoor climate to how housing supports study, rest, and social life. From the very start, 2025 was about listening first and designing second. Throughout spring, that ambition gained structure. Student sign-ups and university conversations confirmed what Sciving had already sensed: there is strong demand for affordable, private, and well-designed housing that reflects how students actually live today. By March, preparations were underway to announce first locations, while continued testing and refinement ensured that the units themselves met high standards of comfort, flexibility, and efficiency. Every adjustment, from sound insulation to airflow, was driven by real-world use and long-term scalability. April marked an important internal milestone, as Sciving began developing its own management and cleaning operations. This step reinforced a long-term commitment to quality and reliability, ensuring that the student experience remains consistent across locations while staying aligned with sustainability goals. At the same time, testing and production planning continued through May, laying the groundwork for smooth future construction and installation. As summer arrived, the focus shifted strongly toward partnerships. While campuses were quieter, Sciving deepened its collaboration with universities, municipalities, landowners, and developers. These months turned early conversations into concrete planning, with five European cities emerging as focal points for future projects. By late summer and early autumn, negotiations moved closer to formal agreements, bringing Sciving closer to turning plans into physical student communities. In October, Sciving prepared for the launch of the Sciving App, opening a direct channel between students, housing opportunities, and a wider support ecosystem. November then introduced another bold idea: exploring crowdfunding as a way to expand access, visibility, and student ownership of the platform and its purpose.
